We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript to own significant domains within our platform.

The role involves system design, architecture, end-to-end delivery, production ownership, mentoring, and AI-assisted engineering. The ideal candidate should be capable of making independent technical decisions, designing scalable systems, solving complex engineering problems, and maintaining high standards of reliability, security, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Own system architecture for significant platform domains, including data models, service boundaries, and API contracts.
• Design and develop scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems.
• Independently manage projects from problem definition and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions in ambiguous situations and clearly communicate recommendations and trade-offs.
• Conduct architecture-focused code reviews covering correctness, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, pairing, code reviews, and documentation.
• Build and maintain production-ready systems with strong observability and operational readiness.
• Participate in production monitoring and incident response.
• Apply secure software development practices across APIs, authentication, authorization, data handling, and application security.
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow.
• Contribute to production AI capabilities, including LLM integrations, RAG/retrieval-based architectures, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.

Essential Skills & Requirements

• 8 - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Strong System Design and Software Architecture experience.
• Experience designing non-trivial systems and explaining technical trade-offs.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, relational databases, schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience developing REST APIs and distributed/service-oriented systems.
• Experience with independent end-to-end project delivery.
• Strong mentoring and technical leadership capabilities.
• Experience with modern AI development tools and ability to validate AI-generated code/output.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have

• Startup or small-team experience.
• Experience in Travel, FinTech, or Accounting domains.
• Production experience with LLM integrations, RAG, or agentic workflows.
• Hands-on MongoDB, including migration and data validation.
• Experience with AWS and Kubernetes, particularly EKS, EC2, ALB, SQS, and SES.
