Job summary

Rodeo Digital is seeking an experienced full stack engineer to own features end-to-end, from design to deployment. You will write scalable code across frontend and backend, build APIs with Node.js, and craft interactive UIs with React.

The role requires strong PostgreSQL and MongoDB skills, plus experience with CI/CD and AWS. You will mentor junior developers and collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver robust software while focusing on security, observability,

Qualifications

• 8 years of hands-on full stack development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and React.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deploying on AWS.
• Deep understanding of fundamental CS concepts, data structures, algorithms, system design and design patterns.

Role & responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of features from technical design and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment
• Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code across the frontend and backend
• Design and implement APIs and services using Node.js, and build interactive UIs using React
• Model and manage data across relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) stores
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments on AWS
• Participate actively in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance to help grow the team's engineering capability
• Identify technical risks early and proactively propose solutions or trade-offs to stakeholders
• Champion engineering best practices including testing, observability, security, and performance
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions

Preferred candidate profile

• 8 years of hands-on full stack development experience, with a track record of owning features end-to-end
• Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and React
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deploying on AWS
• Deep understanding of fundamental computer science and software engineering concepts data structures, algorithms, system design, and design patterns
• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers or acting as a technical point of contact for a team
• Strong understanding of scalable web architecture, security, and performance best practices
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as an individual contributor
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across product, design, and engineering stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience working on ecommerce or multi-tenant SaaS platforms
• Exposure to microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS
