Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (L3) – Node.js with 5+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable backend applications and APIs. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, cloud platforms, database technologies, and modern software engineering practices. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to build secure, scalable, and high‑performance applications for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
• Develop secure, reusable, and high‑performance RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UI/UX Designers, Frontend Developers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑documented, and testable code following engineering best practices.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain unit tests to ensure application quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.
• Assist in designing scalable software architecture and technical solutions.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and continuously improve engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in backend development using Node.js.
• Experience building enterprise‑grade applications or SaaS products.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Technical Skills

Must Have

• Hands‑on experience with Node.js.
• Experience with Express.js or NestJS.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event‑driven architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of RESTful API design and development.
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs.
• Working knowledge of SOAP APIs is an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Experience writing unit tests using Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Test‑Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience using ORMs such as Prisma, Sequelize, or TypeORM.
• Experience working with MongoDB and Mongoose or similar ODMs.
• Good understanding of database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of Git, code reviews, pull requests, and feature branching workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with Socket.io, WebSockets, or other real‑time communication technologies.
• Experience working with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS.
• Familiarity with GraphQL.
• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
