Job description

The Senior Scientific Officer will supervise laboratory testing, quality control, documentation, instrument operations, and technical team performance. This requires strong diagnostic laboratory knowledge, staff guidance ability, GLP compliance, and reporting workflow awareness. The candidate will support accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic testing.

• Supervise routine and specialized laboratory test processing.
• Ensure samples are tested as per SOPs and quality requirements.
• Review QC logs, test records, worksheets, and instrument documentation.
• Guide junior scientific officers and technical staff in laboratory procedures.
• Monitor sample workflow, pending reports, and turnaround time.
• Operate and oversee laboratory analyzers and diagnostic equipment.
• Report technical issues, abnormal QC trends, or process deviations to seniors.
• Coordinate with pathologists, accessioning, reporting, and operations teams.
• Support internal audits, CAPA, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
• Maintain GLP, biosafety, infection control, and data integrity practices.
• Ensure cleanliness, discipline, and organized laboratory operations.
• Support accurate and timely diagnostic report delivery.
