Job description

The Junior Scientific Officer will assist with diagnostic sample processing, laboratory testing, quality control documentation, and analyzer operation. This requires scientific knowledge, attention to detail, GLP compliance, and disciplined workflow. The candidate will support reliable and timely diagnostic reporting.

• Process patient samples and support routine laboratory investigations.
• Verify patient details, sample quality, and test requisition information.
• Operate assigned laboratory instruments under supervision.
• Maintain worksheets, registers, QC logs, and equipment usage records.
• Prepare testing materials, reagents, and controls when required.
• Follow GLP, biosafety, PPE, and infection control procedures.
• Report abnormal observations, sample problems, or equipment alerts promptly.
• Support routine, urgent, and priority sample workflow.
• Coordinate with accessioning and reporting teams for completion of tests.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of laboratory areas.
• Support training, audits, and documentation checks.
• Ensure accuracy and discipline in laboratory testing activities.
