Job summary

Sutherland in India is seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant with specialization in Funds Management and Asset Accounting. You will lead design, configuration, and implementation of financial solutions across large-scale enterprise environments.

You will partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional SAP teams to drive end-to-end delivery, system enhancements, and governance, while coordinating with ABAP developers for reports and interfaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP FICO implementation experience.
• Expertise in Funds Management (FM) and Asset Accounting (FI-AA).
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance and Fiori apps.
• Strong stakeholder management and governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, configuration, and testing of SAP FI-FM.
• Drive SAP FI-AA lifecycle delivery including depreciation and year-end closing.
• Deliver FI-GL, FI-AP, FI-AR, Bank Ledger, CO-OM capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-module integrations with MM, SD, PS, and PM.
• Author functional specs, config rationales, test scripts, and data migration strategies.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers on reports, interfaces, and workflows.
• Lead cutover activities and post-go-live hypercare support.
• Guide requirement workshops and gap analyses.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant with specialized expertise in Funds Management (FM) and Asset Accounting (FI-AA). In this role, you will lead the design, configuration, and implementation of financial solutions across large-scale enterprise environments. You will partner with business stakeholders, cross-functional SAP teams, and technical leads to drive end-to-end delivery, system enhancements, and architectural governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and testing of SAP FI-FM (Funds Management), including commitment management, budget structures, derivation rules, and integration with the General Ledger.
• Drive complete lifecycle delivery for SAP FI-AA (Asset Accounting), including asset classes, depreciation areas, parallel valuation, CIP settlements, and year-end closing processes.
• Deliver core SAP FICO capabilities spanning General Ledger (FI-GL), Accounts Payable (FI-AP), Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), Bank Ledger, and Cost Center / Internal Order Accounting (CO-OM).
• Manage cross-module integration points, particularly with MM (Procurement/PR/PO commitment tracking), SD, PS (Project Systems), and PM (Plant Maintenance).
• Author comprehensive functional specifications, configuration rationales, test scripts, and data migration strategies.
• Partner with ABAP developers to design custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, and workflow automations (BAPIs, BADIs, user exits).
• Lead cutover activities, historical balance migrations, and post-go-live hypercare support.
• Guide business stakeholders through requirement workshops, gap analyses, and best-practice solution recommendations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on SAP FICO implementation and support experience.
• At least 2 full-lifecycle implementations demonstrating in-depth responsibility for both Funds Management and Asset Accounting.
• Proven expertise in S/4HANA Finance (Universal Journal architecture, New Asset Accounting, and Fiori applications).
• Strong working knowledge of Public Sector Management (PSM-FM) or commercial cash/budget management frameworks.
• Solid experience coordinating integration across SAP MM, PS, and PM.
• Excellent analytical, stakeholder-management, and bilingual technical-to-business communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Application Associate or Professional in SAP S/4HANA for Financial Accounting.
• Professional accounting accreditation (CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent).
• Experience with automated cutover tools, LTMC/Migration Cockpit, and central finance setups.
