Job summary

Max Super Speciality Hospital in Dwarka, Delhi invites applications for a Senior Resident – General Surgery. The role involves clinical and surgical care under supervision, patient assessment, peri-operative management, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

The candidate will assist in elective and emergency procedures, perform minor surgeries, conduct pre- and post-operative care, and participate in rounds, teaching, and academic activities.

Qualifications

• MBBS with MS/DNB in General Surgery and valid registration.
• Experience in general surgery in hospital settings.
• Exposure to emergency and elective procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of surgical patients.
• Assist Consultants in elective and emergency surgical procedures.
• Independently perform minor surgical procedures as per competence and departmental requirements.
• Conduct pre-operative assessment and ensure patients are adequately prepared for surgery.
• Provide post-operative monitoring and management, including identification of complications.
• Attend to surgical emergencies and provide timely intervention under Consultant guidance.
• Conduct daily rounds and ensure appropriate follow-up of admitted patients.
• Manage and coordinate patient care with nursing, ICU, anaesthesia and other clinical departments.
• Perform and assist with procedures such as suturing, wound care, catheterisation and other procedures as per clinical requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, clinical notes and discharge summaries.
• Participate in emergency duties, on-call services and departmental rosters.
• Participate in academic activities, clinical meetings and teaching sessions.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical care.

• Experience in managing post-operative and critically ill surgical patients will be preferred.
