Job summary

Synpulse Holding AG is building a Centre of Excellence for Reinsurance Operations to support a UK-based client. The role oversees setup, review, analysis and control across all reinsurance aspects, leading a team and ensuring accurate contractual entries, risk reviews and quarterly recoveries.

The candidate should bring 5+ years in insurance/reinsurance with strong English, stakeholder management, and coaching abilities, and be able to drive process improvements within a flexible environment.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of reinsurance processes including underwriting, claims, accounting and controls.
• Experience mentoring team members and supporting learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of reinsurance contract entries and quarterly risk reviews.
• Produce and review quarterly ultimate reinsurance recoveries for client.
• Sign off on key outputs before distribution to client.
• Represent Ceded Reinsurance function in group reviews and claims committees.
• Collaborate with finance, actuarial and RI teams to resolve variances.
• Lead and develop the Ceded Reinsurance team; manage workloads and SLAs.
• Provide technical support for system transformations and process improvements.
• Drive efficiency, accuracy, and timely close processes.

About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage and help set up Synpulse’s new Centre of Excellence’s Reinsurance Operations Team which we are building to support a UK based specialist (Re) Insurance client company. The role isrequiredto provide comprehensive review, analysis,reportingand control to support the client’s business in all reinsurance aspects.

• A strong working knowledge of reinsurance including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and associated processes,controlsand systems (relevant experience in a Reinsurer/Broker would be a plus)

• Working knowledge of relevant trends and information within the insurance industry
• Technical and/or analyticexpertisethat can be adapted to currenttechnologies
• Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/ deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, partners and internal teams
• Knowledgeof London market reinsurance administrationis a plus - ideallywith a detailed understanding of all types of reinsurance
• Provide trainingand mentoring to team-members to supportlearning and development
• Process transformation and control improvement experience is a plus

Qualifications and Experience

• Finance or Economics degree(progress towards an accountancy or audit professional qualification is considered a plus)
• 5+ years of relevant experience in an insurance/reinsurance company
• Experience in ceded reinsuranceis desired but not essential
• English language proficiency (C1 or above)

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibility for theaccuracy ofthe client’sreinsurance contract entryandquarterly internal risk reviews.
• Ownership ofthe production and review of the quarterly ultimate reinsurance recoveries for theclient.
• Sign off responsibility for theaccuracy ofkey outputs prior to distribution to the widerclientbusiness.
• Representthe client’sCeded Reinsurancefunctionat group peer review and claims committeeincluding ownership ofqueriesraised by internal stakeholders where appropriate.
• Work in collaboration withclient stakeholders from thefinance, actuarial & ceded RIfunctionsto investigate/ resolvevariances
• Represent theclient’sCeded Reinsurancefunction on current and future client projects.
• Supportclient administration managers on complex reinsurance issues as required.
• Provide ad-hocassistanceto theclient’sAdministrationManagers,includingclearing any other peer review backlog that may exist.
• Assurenew reinsurancecommitmentsarealigned with the client’soperating model.
• Providetechnical support and consultation to theclient’sCeded Reinsurance system transformationprogramme.
• Active involvement inongoingdevelopment of theclient’s reinsurance administration procedures and systems.
• Provide any other technical support necessary to assist theclientOperations Manager with the successful delivery of the Ceded Reinsurance strategy.
• Lead monthly internal team credit control meetings, determine actions required for older unsettled accounts.
• Provide technical support tointernaland external auditprocessesa required.
• Improve and review thequality, accuracyand timeliness of the controls in place to support close processes.
• Drive improvements in efficiency and control leading to increased accuracy more timely processing.
• Management ofcirca3CededReinsuranceTecnicians(initially)with the possibility for future team expansion.
• Drive team growth throughdevelopment,coachingand mentoring of team members.
