Job summary

Z H Consultancy Services in Kochi, Kerala seeks an experienced Senior Rebar Detailer to lead complex reinforcement detailing for commercial, industrial, residential buildings and infrastructure projects. You will prepare and review BBS, ensure constructible drawings, and mentor junior detailers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in structural reinforcement detailing for diverse project types.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, RFIs, and specifications accurately.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and review complex placing drawings, BBS, and bar lists.
• Interpret drawings, specs and RFIs to produce constructible detailing packages.
• Review junior detailers' drawings for bar marks, splices, laps and congestion.
• Incorporate design revisions and BFA comments accurately and timely.
• Resolve congestion/constructability issues with engineers and stakeholders.
• Mentor and train junior staff on detailing standards and software usage.
• Estimate scope and time for Change Orders and communicate with Team Leader/PM.
• Maintain drawing logs, submission trackers and status reports.
• Coordinate with QC/QA to ensure quality before submission.
• Keep personal and team timesheets up to date and accurate.
• Support production planning and resource allocation as needed.

Designation: Senior Rebar Detailer

Location: Kochi, Kerala

Education: BE/Diploma in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

Experience: 610 years in rebar/reinforcement detailing

Software Knowledge: RebarCAD, Tekla Structures (Rebar), AutoCAD

Structures Knowledge: Commercial, Industrial, Residential Buildings, Bridges, Precast, Infrastructure Projects

Standards Knowledge: ACI, CRSI, and applicable local/project-specific reinforcement detailing codes

Job Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and review complex placing drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and bar lists for a variety of project types.
• Interpret structural engineering drawings, specifications, and RFIs to produce accurate, constructible rebar detailing packages.
• Review and check drawings and schedules prepared by junior detailers/modelers, ensuring accuracy of bar marks, splices, laps, and congestion issues before submission.
• Study BFA (Back from Approval) comments and design revisions, and ensure timely and correct incorporation into drawings.
• Resolve rebar congestion and constructability issues, coordinating with structural engineers and project stakeholders as needed.
• Guide, mentor, and train junior detailers and modelers on detailing standards, software usage, and company workflows.
• Assess scope and time required for Change Orders and communicate estimates to the Team Leader/Project Manager.
• Maintain and update contract drawing logs, submission trackers, and steel/status reports accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate with QC/QA teams to ensure drawings meet internal quality standards prior to submission.
• Keep personal and team work status current; ensure timely and accurate timesheet updates.
• Support Project/Team Leaders with production planning and resource allocation as required.
