Job summary

SkillYT is seeking a detailing engineer in Kerala to independently prepare and review complex rebar drawings, BBS, and bar lists across diverse project types. You will interpret structural drawings, manage revisions, and ensure constructability with engineers and stakeholders.

You will mentor junior detailers, coordinate with QC/QA, and help with change orders and resource planning, while maintaining logs and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in detailing complex rebar packages.
• Ability to lead and mentor a small team of junior detailers.
• Excellent communication and coordination with engineers, clients, and internal teams.
• Experience in coordinating with QC/QA and project stakeholders to meet schedules.
• Proven ability to manage multiple submissions under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and review complex placing drawings, BBS, and bar lists for various project types.
• Interpret structural drawings, specifications, and RFIs to produce accurate rebar detailing packages.
• Review drawings and schedules prepared by junior detailers, ensuring accuracy before submission.
• Incorporate design revisions and comments into drawings in a timely manner.
• Resolve rebar congestion and constructability issues with engineers and stakeholders.
• Guide, mentor, and train junior detailers on detailing standards and software usage.
• Assess scope and time for Change Orders and communicate estimates to leaders.
• Maintain and update contract drawing logs, submission trackers, and status reports.
• Coordinate with QC/QA to ensure drawings meet internal quality standards.
• Keep personal and team work status current; timely timesheet updates.
• Support project leaders with production planning and resource allocation.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and review complex placing drawings, bar bending schedules (BBS), and bar lists for a variety of project types.
• Interpret structural engineering drawings, specifications, and RFIs to produce accurate, constructible rebar detailing packages.
• Review and check drawings and schedules prepared by junior detailers/modelers, ensuring accuracy of bar marks, splices, laps, and congestion issues before submission.
• Study BFA (Back from Approval) comments and design revisions, and ensure timely and correct incorporation into drawings.
• Resolve rebar congestion and constructability issues, coordinating with structural engineers and project stakeholders as needed.
• Guide, mentor, and train junior detailers and modelers on detailing standards, software usage, and company workflows.
• Assess scope and time required for Change Orders and communicate estimates to the Team Leader/Project Manager.
• Maintain and update contract drawing logs, submission trackers, and steel/status reports accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate with QC/QA teams to ensure drawings meet internal quality standards prior to submission.
• Keep personal and team work status current; ensure timely and accurate timesheet updates.
• Support Project/Team Leaders with production planning and resource allocation as required.
