Job summary

nVent seeks a senior mechanical design engineer to develop and model ERICO and ERIFLEX products for global markets. You will create SOLIDWORKS models and collaborate with Sales, Product Management and end-users to generate new product ideas and drive VOC feedback.

With 8+ years in mechanical CAD, you will support NPI activities during commercialization and ensure design conformance through testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• 8+ years’ experience in mechanical product design and CAD (SOLIDWORKS preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with engineers and customers.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Propose, design and develop of nVent ERICO (lightning, grounding, surge protective devices and rail products) and nVent ERIFLEX (low voltage distribution products) for electrical industries and applications worldwide.
• Create SOLIDWORKS models and drawings for ERICO and ERIFLEX products.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management and end-users to generate new product ideas.
• Assist commercial teams with VOC visits.
• Research and provide market specific intelligence and feedback on products to the commercial teams.
• Prepare project plans including scope, timelines and resources.
• Track and report the status of projects.
• Prepare material, component and product specifications.
• Support the preparation of quality assurance procedures.
• Validate designs, create and test prototypes and assist in third party testing and conformance.
• Support NPI activities during commercialization and product launch.
• Conduct NPI training for sales, customer care, and customers.
• Participate in industry committees and standards working groups

YOU HAVE:

• Academic background in Bachelor’s Degree in engineering background (Mechanical preferred)
• Previous experience in or with Minimum 8+ years’ experience in mechanical product design and CAD (preferably SOLIDWORKS)
• Skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (build and maintain effective work relationships and establish credibility with internal and external customers and channel partners).
  • Good command of the English language to communicate with engineering management and Cross functional teams.
