Job summary

Egis is seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor- MEP (Pre-Contract) to join our Bangalore team on the MESA project support. The role covers cost planning, BOQs, tender documentation, and value engineering for GCC buildings and infrastructure at pre-contract stage.

The candidate will manage cost estimates, risk assessments, and supplier pricing, with 8–13 years' pre-contract QS experience, ideally in UAE/KSA, and strong knowledge of POMI, NRM, CESMM, CostX, and English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• MRICS/CIOB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specifications, and scope documents for buildings and infrastructure packages.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs at concept, schematic, and detailed/tender design stages.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates in compliance with standards.
• Support preparation of tender submissions, cost schedules, and rate build-ups.
• Conduct market research on material, labour, and subcontractor rates within GCC.
• Participate in value engineering exercises, identifying cost optimisation opportunities.
• Assist in drafting tender and contract documents, ensuring commercial accuracy.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to validate rates and quotations.
• Provide commercial risk assessments and raise clarifications as needed.
• Support bid review meetings and negotiations with consultants/clients.
• Maintain accurate cost data, benchmarks, and timely delivery of outputs.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor- MEP (Pre-Contract) to join our team in the Bangalore team, MESA project support. The role involves managing cost planning, estimating, measurement, and commercial analysis for GCC buildings and infrastructure scope - pre-contract stage. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate Cost Planning, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documentation, value engineering support, and commercial input to ensure competitive and compliant bids within the GCC.

Key Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specifications, and scope documents for buildings and infrastructure packages.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs at concept, schematic, and detailed / tender design stages.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates in compliance with POMI, NRM, and CESMM standards as applicable.
• Support preparation of tender submissions, cost schedules, and rate build-ups.
• Conduct market research on material, labour, and subcontractor rates within the UAE.
• Participate in value engineering exercises, identifying cost optimisation opportunities.
• Assist in drafting tender and contract documents, ensuring commercial accuracy and clarity.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to validate rates and quotations.
• Provide commercial risk assessments, highlight discrepancies, and raise clarifications where required.
• Support bid review meetings and negotiations with consultants/clients.
• Maintain accurate cost data, benchmarks, and ensure timely delivery of all pre-contract outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related.
• Working towards or having achieved professional certification from a recognised body (e.g., MRICS, CIOB).
• 8–13 years’ experience in pre-contract quantity surveying, preferably in the UAE and KSA, or wider GCC.
• Strong working knowledge of recognised standards of measurement: POMI, NRM, and CESMM.
• Proven track record in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis for MEP works and site wide Utilities.
• Proficiency in measurement and cost management software (CostX).
• Sound understanding of tendering procedures, subcontractor pricing, and procurement.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
