Job summary

Egis is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor- MEP (Pre-Contract) to join our Bangalore-based team for the MESA project support. The role focuses on cost planning, estimating, measurement, and commercial analysis for GCC buildings and infrastructure in pre-contract stages.

The ideal candidate has 8–13 years of pre-contract QS experience, is familiar with POMI/NRM/CESMM, proficient in CostX, and capable of preparing BOQs and tender documentation while supporting value engineering and commercial risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as MRICS or CIOB preferred.
• 8–13 years of pre-contract quantity surveying experience in GCC.
• Knowledge of POMI, NRM, CESMM standards.
• Experience with cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis for MEP works.
• Proficient in CostX and tender documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specifications, and scope documents for buildings and infrastructure packages.
• Perform quantity take-offs at concept, schematic, and detailed/tender design stages.
• Prepare accurate BOQs and cost estimates in line with POMI, NRM, and CESMM standards.
• Support tender submissions, cost schedules, and rate build-ups.
• Conduct market research on material, labour, and subcontractor rates within the UAE/GCC.
• Participate in value engineering to identify cost optimisation opportunities.
• Draft tender and contract documents with commercial clarity.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to validate rates and quotations.
• Provide commercial risk assessments and raise clarifications where required.
• Support bid review meetings and negotiations with consultants/clients.
• Maintain accurate cost data, benchmarks, and timely pre-contract outputs.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor- MEP (Pre-Contract) to join our team in the Bangalore team, MESA project support. The role involves managing cost planning, estimating, measurement, and commercial analysis for GCC buildings and infrastructure scope - pre-contract stage. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate Cost Planning, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documentation, value engineering support, and commercial input to ensure competitive and compliant bids within the GCC.

• Review design drawings, specifications, and scope documents for buildings and infrastructure packages.

• Assist in drafting tender and contract documents, ensuring commercial accuracy and clarity.

• Provide commercial risk assessments, highlight discrepancies, and raise clarifications where required.
• Support bid review meetings and negotiations with consultants/clients.
• Maintain accurate cost data, benchmarks, and ensure timely delivery of all pre-contract outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related.
• Working towards or having achieved professional certification from a recognised body (e.g., MRICS, CIOB).
• 8–13 years’ experience in pre-contract quantity surveying, preferably in the UAE and KSA, or wider GCC.
• Strong working knowledge of recognised standards of measurement: POMI, NRM, and CESMM.
• Proven track record in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis for MEP works and site wide Utilities.
• Proficiency in measurement and cost management software (CostX).
• Sound understanding of tendering procedures, subcontractor pricing, and procurement.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
