Job summary

Omni Recruit seeks an experienced Quality Assurance professional in Pune to lead supplier quality development from APQP to PPAP, ensuring robust processes and on-time project delivery.

The role requires 8–10 years in manufacturing, automotive exposure, and strong auditing and problem-solving skills, with readiness to travel and work in a matrix structure.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Engineering Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in supplier quality development.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years in a manufacturing environment; automotive sector preferred.
• Knowledge of at least one specified commodities (Metal casting, Welding, Stamping, Plastic Moulding, Electronics, Complex assembly).
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949; internal auditor qualification preferred.
• Experience conducting audits; proficient with MS tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
• Exposure to Vehicle Launch Process is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work with suppliers for New Parts development from APQP to PPAP.
• Review and update project timing plan.
• Monitor supplier performance (PQCDSM).
• Report activities to SQ Manager and Host.
• Provide technical hand-holding with supplier for robust processes (Layout, Tools, material handling, preservation).
• Coordinate with supplier for development of sub-suppliers.
• Escalate progress not happening as planned.
• Set up preventive and corrective actions in agreement with hierarchy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Engineering Degree (or higher), (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
• Experience in Supplier Quality Development function
• Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment (Experience in the automotive sector preferred)
• Technology knowledge and experience in at least one of the following commodities: Metal casting, Welding, Stamping, Plastic Moulding, Electronics, Complex assembly
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 preferably internal auditor qualification
• Experience of conducting Audits Experienced in MS tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project)
• Exposure to Vehicle Launch Process will be an added advantage

Knowledge & Competencies

• Knowledge in automotive core quality tools:
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Control Plan
  • Problem Solving (e.g.: 8D)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
• Auditing processes or systems (internal or supplier audits) per IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.1/6.3 and/or OEM-specific
• Knowledge in capacity assessment and constraint management
• Strong project management skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Capable to train other people
• Flexible and willing to work in Matrix organisation structure
• Soft Skills Capable to work in team and independently too
• Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and presentations
• Good command of English and Malay language (Chinese is an advantage)
• Prompt in planning, review & reporting
• Willingness to travel
