Job summary

Amplify-now is seeking an experienced QA Engineer to join our Centre of Excellence in Mumbai on a hybrid basis. You will develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans for our cloud-based SaaS platform, ensuring strong test coverage across functional, regression, and exploratory testing.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in QA/testing in Agile environments.
• Hands-on with manual test case design for web/SaaS applications.
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect management, debugging, and analytical problem-solving.
• Experience with SaaS or large-scale web applications.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management workflows in Jira (or similar tools).
• Clear communication with engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans and test cases (functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory) for our SaaS platform, ensuring strong test coverage
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product to align testing with real user workflows and requirements
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, and support timely resolution through effective triage, verify fixes, and perform regression testing
• Continuously improve QA practices, test documentation, and execution efficiency to support reliable releases
• Monitor and report on test execution results and defect trends to drive product quality improvements
• Participate in root cause analysis of post-release defects and contribute to ongoing QA process improvements
• Perform manual API testing (e.g., using Postman) to validate backend behaviour where applicable
• Identify gaps in product functionality based on product understanding, including issues not explicitly stated in requirements

• Monitor and report on test execution results and defect trends to drive product quality improvements and prevent regressions
• Participate in root cause analysis of post-release defects and contribute to ongoing QA process improvements
• Perform manual API testing (e.g., using Postman) to validate backend behaviour where applicable
• Identify gaps in product functionality based on product understanding, including issues not explicitly stated in requirements

Preferred candidate profile

Essential

• 4+ years experience in a QA / software testing role within an Agile development environment
• Hands-on experience designing and executing manual test cases (functional, regression, and exploratory) for web/SaaS applications
• Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect management, debugging, and analytical problem-solving
• Experience working on SaaS or large-scale web applications
• Experience with defect tracking and test management workflows in Jira (or similar tools)
• Clear communication skills and ability to work closely with engineering and product teams
• Experience creating and maintaining test documentation for complex features

Desirable

• ISTQB certification (or equivalent) is an advantage
• Exposure to performance or reliability testing in production-grade systems
• Experience working with distributed or global teams
