Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking a Senior Python Automation Test Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for enterprise apps and modern data platforms. The role emphasizes Python development, PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, and API testing within a collaborative, quality-focused team environment.

You will drive test strategies, contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps, and mentor junior QA engineers while working across DevOps and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 7–12 years of experience in Automation Testing or QA.
• Strong expertise in automation framework development and test strategy.
• Advanced Python programming with PyTest-based automation.
• Experience with Selenium and Playwright automation tools.
• API testing expertise using RestAssured or equivalent.
• Experience with performance and load testing (JMeter, k6).
• Familiarity with Azure, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration in agile teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Automation Testing, Test Framework Development, API Testing, and Quality Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks while ensuring high-quality delivery of enterprise applications and modern data platforms. This role requires hands‑on expertise in Python, PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, API Testing, Performance Testing, and CI/CD automation. The successful candidate will collaborate with development, DevOps, QA, and product teams to build robust testing strategies that enhance software quality, reliability, and release efficiency.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites using Python.
• Build scalable and reusable automation frameworks using PyTest, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Develop and execute automated functional, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end test cases.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7-12 years of experience in Automation Testing, Software Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering.
• Strong expertise in Automation Framework Development and Test Strategy Design.
• Advanced programming experience in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with PyTest and Python‑based automation frameworks.
• Extensive experience with Selenium and Playwright automation tools.
• Strong experience in API testing and automation using RestAssured or equivalent tools.
• Expertise in integration testing, functional testing, regression testing, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Experience designing scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
• Working knowledge of Neo4j graph databases and Cypher Query Language.
• Understanding of graph database concepts and validation techniques.
• Experience testing vector databases such as Milvus, Qdrant, or similar platforms.
• Strong hands‑on experience with performance and load testing using JMeter and k6.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud‑based testing environments.
• Experience validating cloud‑native and distributed application architectures.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD automation practices.
• Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis skills.
