Job summary

Burckhardt Compression AG. is seeking a mechanical engineer to own compressor design activities from order receipt to delivery. You will calculate parts per norms, drive optimization projects, and provide technical support to clients and internal teams.

The role requires 5+ years in BC, 3–6 years in industry, and experience with SAP/ERP systems; collaboration with global stakeholders and knowledge documentation are key aspects.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical engineering.
• 3 to 6 years of industrial experience.
• At least 5 years of BC experience.
• Experience in project management.
• Experience with ERP systems preferably SAP.

Responsibilities

• Own compressor design activities from order receipt to the bare block compressor design delivery.
• Calculate and interpret machine parts according to Norm-calculation guidelines and internal design standards.
• Lead projects: casting optimization, standards and improvements, selection of material, approval of complex drawings.
• Provide technical support and advice to internal and external customers regarding compressor issues during runtime.
• Collaborate with global counterparts and stakeholders.
• Document processes and knowledge; take ownership of dedicated subjects.
• Maintain understanding of rotating equipment and its applications.
• Conduct training sessions, act as a mentor, and perform 4-eye reviews for critical components & special calculations.
• Provide calculation support for R&D and strategic projects.
• Generate and implement ideas for improving processes, products and efficiency.

Job description

• Complete custodian of compressor design related activities from receipt of order till the bare block compressor design is delivered.
• Calculate and interpret the machine parts according to Norm-calculation guidelines (AD-leaflet, PED calculations) and internal design standard.
• Drives various projects: Castin optimization, Standards and Improvements, Selection of material, approval of complex drawing by using various internal standards.
• Technical Support and Advice: Provide technical support and advice to internal and external customers regarding various issues with compressors during their runtime. Support the resolution of field complaints, including site visits as necessary.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong collaboration with global counterparts and other stakeholders.
• Documentation and Knowledge Management: Document processes and knowledge, and take ownership of dedicated subjects (product line, segment, process, etc.).
• Expertise in Rotating Equipment: Maintain a deep understanding of rotating equipment and its applications in relevant segments and industries.
• Training and Mentorship: Conduct training sessions, act as a mentor, and perform 4-eye reviews for critical components & special calculations.
• Support for Development Projects: Provide calculation support for R&D and strategic projects.
• Process and Product Improvement: Generate and implement ideas for improving processes, products and efficiency.

Education, Experience and Languages:
