Job summary

Burckhardt Compression in Pune seeks an Application Engineer to craft technical proposals for reciprocating gas compressors, review client specifications, prepare pre-bid queries, deviation lists and firm quotations. You will coordinate with CAD, quality, design and procurement to assemble ITPs, P&ID and GA drawings.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 5–7 years in oil and gas, with API standards knowledge and strong cost sheet skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of experience as Proposal Engineer or Project Engineer in Oil & Gas.
• Experience with API 618, API 614, API 610 and related codes.
• Reviewing high demanding specifications of EIL, TOYO, Reliance, TKIS etc.
• Knowledge of motor & instrumentation, control system and safety/compliance.
• Ability to prepare detailed cost sheets and technical tenders for complex projects.
• Able to handle multiple inquiries and multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete technical proposals for reciprocating gas compressors.
• Review customer specifications and prepare pre-bid queries and deviation lists.
• Prepare RFQs for major auxiliaries and follow up with suppliers.
• Interface with CAD, quality, design and procurement to assemble ITP, P&ID and GA drawings.
• Interface with Design for compressor sizing and regional code compliance.
• Coordinate with Procurement for bought-out items and cost negotiation.
• Prepare accurate cost sheets based on scope of supply per RFQ.
• Participate in technical clarification meetings with Front Sale.
• Respond to technical queries post bid and clarify scope of supply.
• Ensure risk analysis is completed before order award.
• Handover contractual documents after order and ensure smooth execution.
• Adhere to company processes.

Position: Application Engineer

Location: Pune

Your contributions to organisation's growth:

• Prepare complete technical proposal for Reciprocating gas compressor as per company standard, guideline.
• Detailed review of customer specifications and prepare pre-bid query, deviation List and obtain comments from relevant departments.
• Prepare request of quotation for the major auxiliaries in line with project specification, follow up with supplier for bought out quotes.
• Interface with CAD and quality department to prepare the required documentation for firm quotations as ITP, P&ID and GA
• Interface with Design for sizing of compressor, special requirements, compliances to codes and standards for different regions
• Interface with Procurement for negotiated cost of bought out items within package.
• Prepare cost sheet with high accuracy for complete package based on scope of supply as per RFQ.
• Participate in Technical clarification meetings along with Front Sale (Physical / Online)
• Respond to technical queries post bid submission & establish clarity on scope of supply sold.
• Ensure project specific risk analysis is done for all firm project before award of order.
• In the event of order, timely handover contractual document, reply to interdepartmental queries for smooth execution of order.
• Adhere to processes as set by company.

Education/ experience / languages:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar education
• 5-7 Years of experience as Proposal Engineer, Project engineer in Oil & Gas sector.
• Experience in API618 Reciprocating compressors or other Rotating equipment in oil & gas industry.
• Sound Knowledge of various standards like API 618, API 614, API 610, API 670, API 671 etc.
• Experience in reviewing high demanding specifications of EIL, TOYO, Reliance, TKIS etc. (EPC and End Users)
• Sound understanding of motor & instrumentation, control system, machine monitoring system, capacity control system for Hazardous / Safe area.
• Experience in preparation of detailed cost sheet and technical tender for a complex project in Oil & Gas industry.
• Able to handle multiple inquiries, multitasking etc.

• Prepare cost sheet with accuracy as per company guideline.
• Timely respond for customer satisfaction in pre-order phase as per company guideline.
• Smooth order handover to project execution within defined timeline.
