Job summary

Valmet seeks a Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer, DCS, to be based in Pune, India. The role involves leading delivery of Valmet DNA Distributed Control Systems, individually or in a team, under the Engineering Manager, Projects.

You will participate in planning, definition, and commissioning activities across pulp, paper and energy sectors, with extensive travel within India and abroad.

Qualifications

• Engineering Graduate in Instrumentation /Electronics /Electrical from a reputed university with relevant experience of 4 to 7 years.
• Experience of project engineering /execution (logic development).
• Willingness to travel extensively within India and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning with the project manager including goals, scheduling, risk analysis and installation checklists.
• Participates in definition phase, collects starting information and definition material for customer and Sales support.
• Oversees implementation of application engineering, quality per definition, FAT planning and customer FAT approval, and site commissioning.
• Maintains daily follow-up and reporting, conducts site meetings, manages installation, trial runs and final performance acceptance, and acts as Health & Safety responsible on site.

We are looking for “Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer, DCS” to be based in Pune, India. This position reports to “Engineering Manager, Projects”.

In this position you will have opportunity to work as an individual or in a team who possess technical responsibility for the delivery of Valmet DNA Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

In this position, you will be required followings:

Work Experience

You must have experience on DCS systems mainly working in Pulp and Paper /Power plant /Process industries.

Major Responsibilities

Planning Phase

Participates in the planning of the project with the project manager with respect to the goals of the project, overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists.

Basic Engineering

Participates in the Definition phase of the project. Understanding the technical scope as defined in the contract, attending customer kick of meeting, collects starting information, collects & produces definition material for customer and Sales support.

Implementation Phase

Implementation of application engineering, ensuring quality of engineering as per definition, communication with other engineering teams, pre-FAT inspections, factory acceptance test (FAT) plan, attending customer FAT, getting FAT approval from customer, effective implementation for change management and progress reporting, installation & Commissioning of DCS system.

Site Management

Maintains daily follow-up & reporting practice , organizes site meetings with customer and is responsible for installation , trial runs and final performance acceptance from customer. He/She is also Health & Safety (HSE) responsible person in site phase. Provides feedback of customer’s comments for customer satisfaction assessment

To succeed this role, you will need:

• Engineering Graduate in Instrumentation /Electronics /Electrical or equivalent from reputed university with relevant experience of 4 to 7 years

• Experience of project engineering /execution (logic development).

• Should be willing to travel extensively within India and overseas.
