Job summary

Valmet in Pune, India is seeking a Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer for DCS delivery. You will work individually or in a team on Valmet DNA Distributed Control Systems, from definition to commissioning.

The role requires an engineering degree and 4–7 years of experience in DCS, instrumentation or electrical fields, and willingness to travel within India and overseas. You will collaborate with project teams and customers to ensure quality and on-time performance.

Qualifications

• You must have experience on DCS systems mainly working in Pulp and Paper /Power plant /Process industries.
• Experience in project engineering /execution (logic development).
• Willing to travel extensively within India and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Participates in project planning with the project manager and defines goals, schedule, risk analyses, and installation checklists.
• Contributes to definition phase, collects information, and prepares material for customer and Sales support.
• Responsible for application engineering, quality per definition, FAT planning, installation, and commissioning of the DCS system.
• Maintains site follow-up, coordinates site meetings, and handles installation, trial runs, and performance acceptance; Health & Safety on site.
• Provides feedback from customer comments for satisfaction assessment

We are looking for “Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer, DCS” to be based in Pune, India. This position reports to “Engineering Manager, Projects”.

In this position you will have opportunity to work as an individual or in a team who possess technical responsibility for the delivery of Valmet DNA Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Work Experience

In this position, you will be required followings:

You must have experience on DCS systems mainly working in Pulp and Paper /Power plant /Process industries.

Major Responsibilities

• Planning Phase : Participates in the planning of the project with the project manager with respect to the goals of the project, overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists.
• Basic Engineering : Participates in the Definition phase of the project. Understanding the technical scope as defined in the contract, attending customer kick of meeting, collects starting information, collects & produces definition material for customer and Sales support.
• Implementation Phase : Implementation of application engineering, ensuring quality of engineering as per definition, communication with other engineering teams, pre-FAT inspections, factory acceptance test (FAT) plan, attending customer FAT, getting FAT approval from customer, effective implementation for change management and progress reporting, installation & Commissioning of DCS system.
• Site Management :Maintains daily follow-up & reporting practice , organizes site meetings with customer and is responsible for installation , trial runs and final performance acceptance from customer. He/She is also Health & Safety (HSE) responsible person in site phase.
• Provides feedback of customer’s comments for customer satisfaction assessment

To Succeed This Role, You Will Need

• Engineering Graduate in Instrumentation /Electronics /Electrical or equivalent from reputed university with relevant experience of 4 to 7 years
• Experience of project engineering /execution (logic development).
• Should be willing to travel extensively within India and overseas.
