Job summary

OP Mobility in Pune is seeking an Associate Program Manager to support program managers in delivering customer objectives and ensuring project profitability. You will steer development budgets, cash flow, and readiness for production, while aligning EHS, quality, and data requirements with stakeholders.

The role requires experience in automotive programs, cross-functional leadership, and proficiency in German, French, or Italian is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Automotive industry – commercial, financial, industrial or engineering background.
• IATF16949 & Customer specific requirements. Completion of at least 2 projects (level 2 category) achieving their objectives
• Team playing, leadership, communication skills and rigor. Ability to federate teams, define and actively lead a cross departmental plan to achieve results.
• Professional proficiency in German, French or Italian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Managers to deliver the project (OP and Customer) objectives and deliverables.
• Responsible for the project profitability calculation.
• Steers the complete development budget and cash flow for the entire project.
• Supports a non-event launch of the project into production.
• Defines the business cases for the project and all scope changes.
• Manages the traceability, the KPIs, and the reporting.
• Promote EHS, quality and data requirements internally.
• Integrates project objectives (EHS, Development Result, Hours, NPV, Cash flow, etc.).
• Updates the master project timing plan and consolidates planning across core team members.

• Project Definition
• Supports Project plan and checks total development budget is in accordance with the agreed Customer Statement of Work and validated project scope.
• Supports the core team member’s OPTIMAP work packages and their agreed development budgets, in agreement with the project objectives and the project scope
• Updates the master project timing plan and consolidates negotiated planning of each core team member ensuring it conforms to the customer and PLM timing plans
• Follows-up the core team members’ targets to work towards in line with the project objectives to reach the expected profitability of the project (Development hours, PRU, investments, cash flow, Costs of Non-Quality).
• Follows and applies the direction of the BG cascaded by the Program director.
• At the end of the project, assesses the status against the original project objectives and feeds back lessons learned.
• Actions management / Reporting / Risks
• In line with the PLM Project Plan, supports the global project status consolidation and follows the status for the deliverables completion in the BG Information Systems.
• Identifies deviations from the planned Project Plan and validates the actions proposed by the core team members to realign.
• Supports project meetings, project reviews and end of phase reviews with all core team members to review project status and project action plan follow-up.
• Supports the preparation of the gateway reports to the OPTIMAP committee.
• Supports the assessment of the threats and opportunities of each department, prioritizes and follows the action plan to respond to the risks throughout the project phases.
• Supports the financial control / reporting of the project budget using the standard BG tools to consolidate and reporting cash flow and profitability to program reviews.
• Supports the scope change (internal / external) process and ensures the project budget is updated (hours, investment and production costs).
• Follows project development expenditure versus the planned budget, identifies any deviation (hours, investments and production costs), and proposes appropriate actions to realign.
• Manages the project cash flow, including tooling and other costs. Only project team members can authorize payment to suppliers respecting OPs procedures and terms.
• Challenges that the optimum technical and manufacturing solutions / choices are made by the project team to meet the design to cost project objectives.
• Prepares periodic reporting to the program director, plant director, department managers and sales director highlighting the key project progress and risks through the program review process.
• Follows the project reporting of each core team member to manage the escalation process of issues and risks and the achievement of their project actions.

• Supports the coordination of the project team, communication management, project meeting organization, conflict resolution and building an effective team.
• Supports the project team in applying the methodology of development - PLM through adequate division Information Systems
• In line with the project development budget identifies the resource needs, skills and locations to meet the project objectives.
• Contributes to the annual assessment process of the core team members.
• Follows company standards and best practices application as defined by each department to maximize the productivity of the development budget.
• Ensures the health and safety of the project team and respect the environment
• Applies and respects the procedures of the engineering and plant sites and the responsibility for control or destruction of project parts and waste.
