Job summary

Zuper builds field service management software for trades. We seek a designer who can own the mobile experience end-to-end, crafting interfaces that work in real-world field conditions—glove-covered hands, bright sun, and spotty connectivity—while leveraging the Prelude design system and native device capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end design of mobile/tablet experiences on iOS/Android.
• Ability to design for field contexts: sites, vehicles, and variable connectivity.
• Strong justification of design decisions and platform pattern choices.
• Experience designing for offline-first, loading, sync, and failure states.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of Zuper's mobile and tablet experiences across iOS and Android.
• Design for field contexts where UI must keep up with fast-changing conditions.
• Handle connectivity edge cases as a core design problem: offline states, sync flows, partial data, graceful degradation.
• Utilize native platform capabilities for camera, GPS, and push notifications to support workflows.
• Regularly talk to customers to understand day-to-day field needs before designing solutions.
• Build and extend the mobile component library within the Prelude design system.
• Prototype on real devices and test in real conditions, not just in Figma.

THE ROLE

Zuper is a field service management platform built for the trades — and our customers' teams run on mobile. They're at job sites, in trucks, in attics, making decisions with a phone in one hand and a clipboard in the other. We're looking for a designer who can own that platform entirely: building experiences that work in real-world conditions, not ideal ones. Glare, gloves, interrupted connectivity, and two-second attention spans are the actual design brief.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own the end-to-end design of Zuper's mobile and tablet experiences across iOS and Android
• Design for the field — job sites, vehicles, client walkthroughs — where context shifts fast and the UI has to keep up
• Handle connectivity edge cases like a first-class design problem: offline states, sync flows, partial data, and graceful degradation
• Use native platform capabilities purposefully — camera for estimates and documentation, GPS for job context, push for timely handoffs
• Talk to our customers' teams regularly — understand their day in the field before you design for it
• Build and extend the mobile component library within the Prelude design system
• Prototype on real devices and test in real conditions — not just in Figma

• Regularly interact with customers through calls.
• Use customer conversations as research opportunities.
• Understand customer needs and workflows before designing solutions.

Ownership

• Independently identify mobile platform requirements.
• Identify and resolve broken or inefficient user experiences.
• Take ownership of the mobile experience without waiting for detailed specifications.

Experience

• 4–6 years of product design experience.
• B2B or enterprise mobile product design experience is a strong advantage.
