About the Role
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion and coordination of all necessary activities to secure, maintain, and preserve REO properties acquired through reverse mortgage foreclosures. You will collaborate closely with vendors and contractors to keep properties safe, secure, and ready for market.
Responsibilities
- Manage the REO property preservation process for reverse mortgages, following all company procedures and legal guidelines.
- Coordinate and oversee timely completion of property inspections to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Secure vacant properties to prevent unauthorized access and vandalism.
- Oversee property clean‑out and debris removal.
- Manage lawn maintenance, including grass cutting and landscaping, to maintain curb appeal and prevent code violations.
- Coordinate winterization services to protect vacant properties from weather damage during cold seasons.
- Ensure completion of other life safety and preservation measures as needed (e.g., board‑up services, plumbing shut‑off).
- Track and document all preservation activities for each property.
- Collaborate with asset managers and other departments to ensure a smooth transition when properties are ready for listing and sale.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for all REO properties under your purview.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in property preservation, REO management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of reverse mortgage foreclosure timelines and procedures.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal departments.
- Proactive and detail‑oriented with a focus on timely completion of tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in PPW and Resnet applications.
