Job summary

Axium Global Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing & Piping Engineer to lead design delivery for projects across Australia, the UK, and the US. The role emphasizes building-services plumbing, water/wastewater, pumping stations, and process piping within industrial settings.

You will develop layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver compliant 3D piping models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, while engaging with international clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of piping design experience in Water/Wastewater and/or Oil & Gas.
• Experience in building-services plumbing design including water supply, drainage and fire protection.
• Proficient with P&IDs and AutoCAD Plant 3D; familiarity with international codes.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Plumbing & Piping Engineer to join our growing engineering team delivering projects across Australia, the UK, and the US.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in building-services plumbing and firefighting design, combined with experience in Water/Wastewater, pumping stations, process piping and/or Oil & Gas projects. Candidates who have transitioned from building-services PHE design into industrial, water or process piping environments are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Plumbing, Water & Fire Protection Design

• Design and deliver plumbing, water supply, drainage, sewerage and fire protection systems for building-services projects.
• Develop water supply, drainage and sewerage layouts, including internal and external systems.
• Carry out relevant hydraulic and system calculations for water supply, drainage and fire protection systems.
• Design and coordinate underground drainage, sewerage and stormwater systems.
• Design and coordinate water tanks, STP systems, pumping systems and associated infrastructure.
• Design fire protection systems including sprinklers, internal and external hydrants, fire pumps, fire tanks and associated pipework.
• Prepare design layouts, schematics, specifications, schedules, BOQs and tender documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable local and international codes and standards.

Water, Wastewater & Industrial Piping

• Prepare and review piping layouts, piping plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings and isometrics.
• Develop and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Design piping systems for water treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, process plants, and oil & gas facilities.
• Perform piping routing, equipment layout coordination, and piping material selection.
• Coordinate closely with Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
• Produce high-quality 3D piping models and associated drawings using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian, UK, US, and international codes and standards.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, constructability reviews, and client meetings.
• Communicate directly with international clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Support project planning, estimation, scheduling, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of piping design experience within Water/Wastewater and/or Oil & Gas.
• Experience in building-services plumbing design, including water supply, drainage, sewerage and fire protection systems.
• Strong understanding of piping layouts, equipment coordination and multidisciplinary design.
• Experience with P&IDs and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ISO and related standards.
• Experience working with international clients is preferred.

• Exposure to BIM workflows and piping stress coordination.
