Qualifications

• Certifications such as FSAI-AP, CFPS are a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of PHE & Fire Protection/Alarm design and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of PHE and Fire Protection/Alarm systems for high-rise buildings, hospitals, malls, and industrial projects.
• Perform detailed hydraulic calculations and ensure designs meet Indian and international codes (NBC, NFPA, ASPE, IPC).
• Review designs, communicate concepts to clients, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Oversee project teams, mentor staff, and manage day-to-day operations and budgets.

Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Plumbing & Fire Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, budget, and timeline. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading PHE & Fire services, overseeing project execution, and driving the technical excellence of our designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of PHE (Plumbing, Heating & Environmental) and Fire Protection/Alarm systems for high-rise buildings, hospitals, commercial spaces, shopping malls, data centers, and industrial projects.
• Perform detailed hydraulic calculations, fire protection system design, and all related technical services for complex projects.
• Conduct design reviews, ensuring compliance with Indian standards and international codes (NBC, IGBC, GRIHA, NFPA, ASPE, IPC, etc.).
• Communicate and present design concepts and solutions to clients, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.

Team & Project Management

• Oversee PHE & Fire project teams, ensuring consistent delivery of quality work within agreed-upon timelines and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff, providing guidance to help them develop their skills and meet professional goals.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the PHE & Fire Department, setting both short-term and long-term departmental goals.
• Participate in client meetings, establishing and nurturing positive client relationships.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement strategies to enhance team performance, client service, and design innovation.
• Review project billings regularly to ensure they align with financial goals.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in PHE & Fire systems, applying this knowledge to continually improve project outcomes.
• Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new approaches to design and problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required) with a professional certificate in PHE or Fire Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 12+ years of experience in the building design sector, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role focused on PHE & Fire systems.
• Certifications: FSAI-AP, CFPS, or similar certifications are a plus.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of PHE & Fire Protection/Alarm design, hydraulic calculations, and applicable Indian and international standards.
• Client Interaction: Experience managing client relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
