Role Overview
The Senior Engineer / Lead - MEP (PHE Design & Firefighting) will be responsible for end-to-end design management of Public Health Engineering and Fire Protection systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, independent decision-making, and the ability to lead design coordination across multiple stakeholders and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimization of water supply, drainage, sewage, and storm water systems.
- Independently handle firefighting system design including hydrants, sprinklers, wet risers, and fire suppression systems.
- Perform and validate hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and system capacity planning.
Project Ownership
- Take complete ownership of PHE & firefighting design deliverables across projects.
- Manage timelines, design quality, and coordination milestones.
- Review and approve design drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Lead coordination with architects, structural, HVAC, electrical teams, and external consultants.
- Interface with clients, PMCs, and contractors for design discussions and approvals.
- Resolve complex design and site-related issues proactively.
Review & Value Engineering
- Review shop drawings and vendor submissions with a focus on optimization.
- Suggest value engineering solutions to improve cost efficiency and system performance.
- Standardize design practices and improve processes where possible.
Execution Support
- Provide technical leadership to site teams during execution.
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure adherence to design intent.
- Support testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Approvals & Compliance
- Lead statutory approval processes including fire department NOCs.
- Ensure documentation readiness for audits and authority submissions.
Key Skills Required
- Strong expertise in PHE & Firefighting design and coordination
- Advanced knowledge of NBC, NFPA, and IS standards
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/BIM preferred)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical :
- 2 to 12 years in MEP design with a focus on PHE & Firefighting Job
