Job summary

Buxton Consulting invites an experienced Sr. Oracle EBS / Applications DBA to join our client-facing team. You will manage Oracle EBS R12.2.x and core DBA activities, with emphasis on RAC, Data Guard, and OCI workloads, in a hybrid India-based setup.

Strong SQL Server DBA skills and a proactive communicator are essential as you handle upgrades, migrations, cloning, performance tuning, and automated operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including RAC and Data Guard.
• Solid EBS R12.2.x administration and support experience.
• OCI exposure across compute, storage, networking, databases, DR and migrations.
• MS SQL Server DBA experience with performance tuning and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle EBS/RDBA operations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Monitor and tune performance; implement RMAN backups and DR strategies.
• Collaborate on cloud migrations and high-availability architectures.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC
• Data Guard
• Performance Tuning
• Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
• Database Upgrades, Migrations, and Cloning
• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
• Compute, Storage, Networking
• Database services
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
