Job summary

Buxton Consulting seeks a Senior Oracle EBS / Applications DBA (MS SQL) with 8+ years of experience. The role supports Oracle EBS R12.2.x administrations, OCI cloud services, and SQL Server DBA tasks. Flexible location: Remote or Hyderabad (Hybrid), India.

The candidate will manage RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, upgrades, migrations, cloning, and performance tuning, while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness. Strong communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard and RMAN for backup/recovery.
• Expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle EBS R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oversee Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and performance tuning tasks.
• Handle OCI compute, storage, networking and database services.
• Perform upgrades, migrations and cloning of databases.
• Maintain MS SQL Server DBA operations including performance tuning and backups.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC
• Data Guard
• Performance Tuning

• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
• Compute, Storage, Networking
• Database services
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
