Job summary

Buxton Consulting seeks a Sr. Oracle EBS / Applications DBA to manage Oracle EBS R12.2.x with RAC, Data Guard, RMAN backups, and OCI services. The role requires strong MSSQL Server DBA skills and hands-on database upgrade/migration experience.

The candidate will support hybrid/remote work from India (Remote or Hyderabad), with 8+ years of experience and a readiness for rotational PST support. Immediate start expected.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Oracle Core DBA Admin with RAC and Data Guard.
• Solid experience with EBS R12.2.x administration and support.
• OCI exposure including compute, storage, networking and DR.
• MS SQL Server DBA with performance tuning and recovery skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle EBS R12.2.x environments and perform routine admin tasks.
• Implement and monitor RAC, Data Guard and RMAN-based backups.
• Conduct database upgrades, migrations and cloning activities.
• Provide performance tuning and proactive issue resolution.
• Collaborate with global teams across time zones (PST rotation).

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC

• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:

• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
