Job summary

Buxton Consulting seeks a Sr. Oracle EBS/Applications DBA to manage Oracle Apps, EBS R12.2.x, and OCI in a remote or hybrid setup in India. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of experience and strong SQL Server DBA skills, plus excellent communication.

The role supports Oracle Core DBA tasks, performance tuning, RMAN, migrations, and cloning, with a focus on high availability and disaster recovery. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Oracle Core DBA Administration incl. RAC and Data Guard.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2.x administration and support.
• OCI experience mandatory, incl. Compute, Storage, Networking and DB services.
• MS SQL Server DBA experience including tuning, backup/recovery.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC
• Data Guard
• Performance Tuning
• Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
• Database Upgrades, Migrations, and Cloning
• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
• Compute, Storage, Networking
• Database services
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
