Job summary

Buxton Consulting is seeking a Senior Oracle EBS / Applications DBA with 8+ years of experience for a Remote or Hyderabad (Hybrid) position in India. The role focuses on Oracle EBS R12.2.x administration, OCI, and MS SQL Server DBA, delivering robust database support across environments.

You will handle RAC, Data Guard, performance tuning, RMAN, upgrades, migrations, cloning, and automation tasks while communicating effectively with stakeholders in a global time zone.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration including RAC and Data Guard.
• EBS R12.2.x administration and support.
• OCI experience across compute, storage, networking, and backup services.

Responsibilities

• Manage Oracle EBS and database environments including performance tuning and upgrades.
• Plan and execute migrations, cloning, and RMAN backups/recoveries.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and ensure high availability and DR readiness.

Job Description:

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Core DBA Administration, including:
• Oracle RAC
• Data Guard
• Performance Tuning
• Backup & Recovery (RMAN)
• Database Upgrades, Migrations, and Cloning
• Solid experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12.2.x administration and support.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is mandatory, including exposure to:
• Compute, Storage, Networking
• Database services
• Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Cloud migrations and administration
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience, including administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
• Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Must have a pleasant and proactive attitude

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Oracle Exadata administration and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.

Emerging Technology Skills:

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with AI-driven database administration, database automation, AI-assisted monitoring, performance optimization, or implementation of AI solutions within database environments is highly desirable.
