Job summary

ALTEN India in Pune is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop mechanical packages such as compressors and generators. The role requires 3–8 years of relevant experience and strong CAD skills in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.

You will work with sheet metal, piping, fabrication and welding processes, create BOMs, and interact with international customers to capture input and ensure timely, accurate delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on with sheet metal, piping, fabrication, welding and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design of mechanical components and packages such as compressors and generators.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings using Inventor/SolidWorks.
• Prepare BOMs and work with PLM Enovia for data management.
• Coordinate with international customers to capture requirements and address changes.
• Ensure deliverables meet timelines and quality standards.

Job Description:

Position Title – Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Location – Pune

Educational Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical)

Experience Required

• Experience- 3 to 8 years of relevant industry experience
• Sound knowledge of sheet metal, piping, fabrication, welding manufacturing processes and related standards.
• Should have worked on design of packaged units e.g. compressor, generators.
• Sound knowledge of general design and manufacturing concepts.
• 3D, 2D CAD expertise is must on Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Hands on experience on PLM system, Enovia is preferred. Knowledge on creating BOM.
• Should have good ability to understand inputs and plan action based on input requirements, review their own work.
• Strong ability of delivering planned activities within timelines by demonstrating commitments.
• Should be able to communicate with international customers.
