Role Purpose
Lead mechanical design for customer projects involving kiosks, E‑houses, substations, prefabricated containers, and modular power skids, ensuring technically compliant, manufacturable, and installation‑ready solutions. Serve as the mechanical engineering lead for customer interactions and guide junior team members.
Experience
8–15 years
Location
Bangalore / Gurgaon / Mumbai
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Engineering
- Develop complete mechanical design solutions for kiosks, E‑houses, containerized substations, and skids.
- Translate customer requirements and standards into practical, compliant engineering outputs.
- Integrate structural, thermal, electrical, and fire/IP rating constraints into the design.
Equipment Installation & Layout
- Plan equipment movement paths, lifting arrangements, and installation feasibility inside E‑houses.
- Define access openings, clearances, and maintenance pathways.
Design Documentation
- Prepare accurate GA drawings, fabrication drawings, interface diagrams, and BOMs.
- Ensure designs support manufacturability, installation, and long‑term reliability.
Site & Installation Requirements
- Evaluate site conditions and incorporate installation constraints (crane access, foundation, cable trenches).
- Support site teams during installation and commissioning phases.
Supplier & Fabrication Coordination
- Explain design intent to suppliers and validate manufacturing feasibility.
- Review supplier drawings, perform technical evaluations, and support inspections.
Cross‑Functional & Customer Interaction
- Serve as the mechanical engineering lead in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical clarifications.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil/structural, thermal, quality, and project management teams.
Travel & Site Visits
- Visit customer sites for installation planning, feasibility checks, and technical reviews.
- Travel to supplier facilities for fabrication reviews and inspections.
Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and support junior engineers; conduct design reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in mechanical design of E‑houses, kiosks, substations, or prefabricated structures.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD tools (Creo / AutoCAD / Inventor).
- Knowledge of structural design, thermal management, HVAC integration, and equipment layout.
- Understanding of IP/fire rating requirements, fabrication processes, and industrial standards.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills; customer‑facing mindset.
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Civil Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech)
