Job summary

Sweco India seeks Senior Mechanical Engineers to design and deliver water and wastewater projects for UK clients from our India office. You will craft designs and drawings, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality deliverables.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical engineering and design, with proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT/Plant 3D and strong collaboration skills across levels of the organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum B. Tech / M. Tech from an institution of repute.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of design in the water industry.
• An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation.
• The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT or Plant 3D as well as MS Office Software.
• Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Engineering, working in a Multidisciplinary Team, interfacing and coordinating with the other disciplines
• Water / Wastewater Treatment Design
• Providing Outline and Detailed Mechanical Design Deliverables, including;
• - Pumping Systems Design, Hydraulic calculations and Pump Selection
• - Pumping Station Design
• - General Arrangements
• - Piping and Fittings Design
• - Access and Lifting for Water / Wastewater Treatment Process Plant
• - Plant and Equipment Selection for Water / Wastewater Treatment Process
• - Developing P&IDs in conjunction with other design disciplines
• Participation in Design Review, Hazard Studies and Access Lifting and Maintenance Review
• Ensuring design output is completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.

Sr. Mechanical Engineer- Job Description (India)

The position is open at our India office working with our UK based teams.

We have openings for Senior Mechanical Engineers with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design.

As a member of team, you will be responsible for carrying out the Designs & Calculations and developing Drawings for UK Water projects.

You will be working under the direction of the Team Manager, Project Managers and Lead Design Engineers.
