Job summary

TopGear Consultants Pvt Ltd. seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to lead a team on WTP, STP and ETP projects. You will design piping systems, select pumps and valves, and prepare datasheets and RFQs for bidding and execution.

Role requires 12-15 years of mechanical design experience with pipe-stress analysis, plus familiarity with ASME B31.3 and Indian standards. Collaboration with clients and other disciplines is essential.

Qualifications

• Exposure to HAZOP and technical workshops.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team for pre-bid and detailed engineering of WTP, STP & ETP.
• Design and select pumps, pipes, tanks and related components.
• Prepare datasheets, specifications and RFQs for equipment.
• Evaluate vendor offers and perform technical bid evaluations.
• Develop plant layouts, GA drawings and piping layouts.
• Perform pipe stress analysis and prepare support schedules.
• Carry out hydraulic analysis for in-plant and cross-country lines.
• Review Civil 3D layouts and coordinate with clients and disciplines.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Lead a team for WTP, STP & ETP pre-bid and detailed engineering.
2. Design/select pumps, blowers, lifting equipment, penstocks, tanks, pressure vessels, valves, strainers and piping components.
3. Prepare equipment/piping datasheets, specifications and RFQs.
4. Evaluate vendor offers and conduct technical bid evaluations/comparisons.
5. Develop plant layouts, GA drawings and piping layouts.
6. Design piping using GRP, DI, HDPE, uPVC, SS and CS.
7. Perform pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II and prepare pipe support load schedules.
8. Conduct hydraulic analysis for in-plant and cross-country pipelines.
9. Design transmission pipelines as per AWWA M11, ASME and relevant standards.
10. Perform surge analysis using Bentley WaterHammer.
11. Work on WaterGEMS for transmission/distribution network design.
12. Review Civil 3D L-sections, 3D models and engineering drawings.
13. Coordinate with clients, consultants and other engineering disciplines.
14. Participate in HAZOP and other technical workshops.
15. Design raw-water intake, clear-water pump houses and treated-water pumping stations.
16. Apply CPHEEO, Hydraulic Institute, ASME B31.3 and Indian standards.

Preferred candidate profile

12-15 Years experience in Mechanical design-Pipe stress analysis.
