Stantec is looking for a Mechanical Designer with expertise in mechanical detailing for Water/ Wastewater applications, based in the Pune, India office.

The Process Mechanical Designer role conducts and supports the delivery of complete mechanical detail design drawings associated with Water/ Wastewater treatment plants.

Person Specifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; or I.T.I. Mech. draftsperson.
• For Diploma holders: 8-10 years’ experience. For I.T.I. holders: 12+ years’ experience.
• Mechanical Computer Aided Design experience on Water Industry projects.
• 3D Modelling and design experience using Civil and Mechanical Software applications (including Bentley Microstation).
• Bentley Open Plant Modeler.
• Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Autodesk Revit.
• Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering in a BIM environment.
• Knowledge and project experience of working and delivering using Common Data Environments like Bentley ProjectWise and Autodesk BIM 360.
• Knowledge and project experience of Autodesk Navisworks.
• Good team player.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Fully competent in all conventional subject matter or functional areas.
• Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
• Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems.

• Review the input received from the client, understand the scope of work, and plan work accordingly without changing design intent.
• Prepare Basic Plant / Site layouts, General arrangement drawings, etc.
• Understand end-client design and drafting systems and standards and implement them in work.
• Coordinate with other discipline designers and engineers as applicable.
• Coordinate with the BIM/CAD Lead concerning project requirements.
• Visualize and produce clash-free 3D models using Navisworks/Revit (and similar tools from the Bentley suite).
• Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Provide input into projects with minimal supervision and prioritize work products based on the project schedule.
