Job Description
- Lead the strategic planning and management of the product portfolio across its entire lifecycle.
- Develop and execute portfolio growth strategies aligned with business and financial objectives.
- Drive annual portfolio reviews, product rationalisation and lifecycle optimisation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for new product development, line extensions and market expansion.
- Manage the New Product Introduction (NPI) pipeline, including market assessments and business case development.
- Support in-licensing and business development activities through opportunity evaluation, due diligence and commercial analysis.
- Partner with senior leadership to assess and prioritise strategic portfolio investments.
- Develop portfolio dashboards, forecasts and performance metrics to support decision-making.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and commercial data to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Medical Affairs, Sales and Marketing teams.
- Facilitate portfolio governance and prioritisation processes to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Present strategic recommendations and insights to leadership teams to support portfolio decisions.
The Successful Applicant
We're looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Marketing or a related field preferred.
- 8-10+ years of experience in portfolio management, pharmaceutical business development, licensing or strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycle management and portfolio strategy.
- Experience evaluating licensing opportunities, business development partnerships and commercial agreements.
- Exposure to regulated pharmaceutical markets and associated compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, business case development and portfolio analytics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of global pharmaceutical markets including the US, Europe, ROW and emerging markets is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and strategic thinking capabilities.
