Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic advisory and end-to-end contracting support across technology, procurement, and business functions. You will draft, review, and negotiate complex technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, IT services) and coordinate with global stakeholders.

You will ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and anti-corruption laws while driving CLM maturity, governance, and risk management through templates, playbooks, and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of experience in legal with focus on technology and commercial contracting
• Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, IT services, licensing)
• Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, ethics, compliance, data privacy, and anti-corruption laws
• Experience collaborating with compliance, audit, and risk teams
• Experience in global capability centres, shared services, or multinational environments
• Exposure to CLM platforms and process transformation initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders
• Analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills with high integrity
• LLB/LLM from a recognised institution
• Familiarity with GDPR, IT Act, and cross-border data transfer regulations

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advisory and end-to-end contracting support across technology, procurement, and business functions
• Advise stakeholders on legal, regulatory, risk, and ethics/compliance considerations
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex technology and commercial contracts
• Support high-value, high-risk contracting engagements with global stakeholders
• Standardise contracting processes through playbooks, templates, and clause libraries
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across global technology operations
• Ensure adherence to data privacy, cybersecurity, anti-corruption laws, and global compliance frameworks
• Partner with Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit, and Investigations teams on governance reviews and issue resolution
• Drive CLM maturity through automation, dashboards, and streamlined workflows
• Build scalable frameworks to improve turnaround time, efficiency, and service quality
• Develop dashboards and reporting for contract risk, cycle time, and compliance metrics
• Collaborate with global legal teams, business leaders, sourcing/procurement, and external counsel
• Manage cross-border legal matters and contribute to legal/compliance transformation initiatives

Job description

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in legal, with strong focus on technology and commercial contracting
• Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex technology agreements, including SaaS, cloud, IT services, and licensing
• Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, ethics, compliance, data privacy, and anti-corruption laws
• Demonstrated experience working with compliance, audit, and risk teams
• Experience in global capability centres, shared services, or multinational environments
• Exposure to legal operations, CLM platforms, and process transformation initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior business leaders
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills with high integrity and ethical judgement
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Business, or related field OR 5 years of experience in litigation support, computer sciences, or related field
• LLB / LLM from a recognised institution
• Familiarity with GDPR, IT Act, and cross-border data transfer regulations
