Job summary

Your TA Partner in India seeks an experienced HR Manager to own the HR function end-to-end, shaping strategy and building a scalable people function. You will partner with founders and CXOs to design and implement HR practices that attract, develop, and retain talent, drive engagement, and ensure compliance while positioning the organization for 5–6 years of growth.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience across Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, and HR Policies & Compliance.
  • Experience in IT, ERP, software, technology, consulting, or other knowledge-driven organizations would be preferred.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR & Business Partnering with founders, senior leadership, and business heads on people-related decisions and priorities.
  • Translate business goals into effective people and HR initiatives.
  • Build HR practices that support growth, productivity, employee development, and retention.
  • Gradually develop and establish a structured HR function aligned with the organization's growth plans.
  • Drive the performance management process across the organization with clear KRAs and reviews.
  • Identify high-potential employees and support career development and succession planning.
  • Build a positive, professional, and collaborative work culture with strong employee engagement.
  • Own the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit and ensure compliant HR processes.
  • Oversee attendance, leave, payroll coordination, documentation, HR MIS, and records.
  • Introduce HR analytics and reporting to support management decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
  • Identify training and development requirements across functions and build learning initiatives.
  • Support managers in developing their teams and future leaders.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and highly driven HR Manager who can take complete ownership of the HR function at Kokata

This is a high-impact role for someone who is not looking to manage HR only from an operational perspective, but wants to build, strengthen, and eventually lead the entire people function as the organization grows.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the leadership team and business heads to build the right organization, attract and retain talent, strengthen employee engagement, establish effective HR processes, and create a strong people-centric culture.

The role offers the opportunity to shape the HR function over the next 5–6 years , with increasing responsibility and ownership as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR & Business Partnering

  • Partner with the founders, senior leadership, and business heads on people-related decisions and organizational priorities.
  • Understand business goals and translate them into effective people and HR initiatives.
  • Build HR practices that support business growth, productivity, employee development, and retention.
  • Gradually develop and establish a structured HR function aligned with the organization's growth plans.

Performance & Employee Development

  • Drive the performance management process across the organization.
  • Establish clear KRAs, goal-setting, reviews, and performance feedback mechanisms.
  • Identify high-potential employees and support career development and succession planning.
  • Work with managers to improve employee productivity and performance.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Build a positive, professional, and collaborative work culture.
  • Drive employee engagement, recognition, retention, and communication initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers.
  • Understand employee concerns and work with leadership to resolve them constructively.

HR Operations & Policies

  • Take ownership of the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
  • Establish and continuously improve HR policies, processes, and systems.
  • Oversee attendance, leave, payroll coordination, documentation, employee records, and HR MIS.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
  • Introduce HR analytics and reporting to support management decisions.

Learning & Organization Development

  • Identify training and development requirements across functions.
  • Build learning initiatives for technical, functional, managerial, and leadership capabilities.
  • Support managers in developing their teams and future leaders.
  • Contribute to organizational development and change initiatives.
Desired Profile
  • 10–15 years of progressive HR experience , preferably with significant experience handling HR independently or in a broad HR generalist / HRBP role.
  • Experience across Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Employee Engagement, and HR Policies & Compliance .
  • Experience in IT, ERP, software, technology, consulting, or other knowledge-driven organizations would be preferred.
  • Experience working closely with founders, CXOs, business heads, and senior management .
  • Strong understanding of hiring technology and ERP/IT talent would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Should have a mature, confident, approachable, and professional personality .
  • Strong ability to build relationships across levels and handle sensitive employee matters with maturity and discretion.
  • Should be comfortable being hands-on and taking ownership rather than working only through a large HR team.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification preferred.
