• Deep technical expertise in CBTC system architecture, including ATP/ATO functions, wireless communication (IEEE 802.11p, LTE-M), trackside equipment, and train-to-ground data links.
• Extensive knowledge of system safety standards (SIL 4), RAMS principles, and lifecycle management processes.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with experience engaging with clients, regulatory bodies, and senior executives.
• Exceptional project management abilities with proficiency in managing multidisciplinary teams, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ability to provide expert guidance during system testing, trial operations, and acceptance processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Willingness to travel internationally for project oversight, client engagements, and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, technical, and managerial leadership for CBTC signalling projects across the portfolio.
• Lead the end-to-end design, development, integration, and deployment of CBTC systems, ensuring alignment with scope, safety standards, and performance targets.
• Oversee system integration across interfaces: CBTC with rolling stock, PSD, OCC, and trackside infrastructure.
• Manage and coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and third-party vendors for timely delivery and quality compliance.
• Champion the development and submission of safety cases, hazard analysis, risk assessment, and verification/validation documentation for regulatory approval.
• Lead and supervise testing, commissioning, and trial runs to ensure readiness for operations.
• Serve as primary technical advisor during system acceptance, handover, and post-implementation support.
• Contribute to tenders, proposals, and client presentations with technical inputs.
• Mentor senior engineering teams to build leadership and innovation within the organisation.
• Engage with regulators and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with objectives and compliance.

Summary

The Senior Manager – CBTC is apivotal leadership role within the railway signalling division,responsible for driving the strategic, technical, and operationalsuccess of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems acrossmetro and urban rail networks. With 18–25 years of progressiveexperience in metro signalling, this role demands deep expertise in CBTCsystem architecture, safety-critical design, and integration acrosscomplex rail ecosystems. The incumbent will lead end-to-end CBTC projectlifecycles—from concept and design to deployment, commissioning, andhandover—ensuring compliance with international safety standards (e.g.,EN 50128, ISO 21449, SIL 4), RAMS (Reliability, Availability,Maintainability, Safety) principles, and regulatory authorityrequirements.
