Summary
The Senior Engineer –Signaling & Telecommunications (S&T) plays a pivotal role in thedesign, execution, and delivery of critical railway signaling andtelecommunication systems. This position is central to ensuring thesafe, efficient, and compliant operation of railway infrastructure. Theincumbent will lead the development and implementation of signalingdesigns, including track plans, interlocking schemes, and technicaldocumentation, while ensuring full adherence to national andinternational standards (e.g., EN 50128, IEC 61508, Indian Railwaysstandards). The role demands strong technical expertise in designpackages, project scheduling, and safety-critical system validation. TheSenior Engineer will supervise S&T works throughout the projectlifecycle—from conceptual design through installation, testing,commissioning, and handover—while coordinating closely withinterlocking, telecom, power, and civil engineering teams. This positionis essential for maintaining system integrity, regulatory compliance,and operational safety across complex railway projects.

Responsibilities
- Leadthe preparation of signaling designs, including detailed track plans,interlocking diagrams, signal aspect logic, and design calculations.
- Developand manage Bill of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications, anddesign packages in alignment with project scope and standards.
- Superviseand execute S&T works on-site, ensuring strict compliance withsafety protocols, project schedules, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinateseamlessly with interlocking, telecom, power supply, and civilengineering teams to ensure integrated system performance.
- Supportinstallation, testing, and commissioning activities by providingtechnical guidance, resolving design issues, and verifying systemfunctionality.
- Participate in design review meetings andcontribute to the preparation of safety documentation, including SafetyIntegrity Level (SIL) assessments and hazard analysis.
- Prepare accurate as-built drawings and comprehensive technical documentation for handover and future maintenance.
- Ensureall designs and deliverables comply with relevant railway standards,regulatory requirements, and project-specific specifications.
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety awareness.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in signaling and telecommunications systems within the railway industry.
- Provenexperience in preparing signaling designs, track plans, BOQs, anddesign calculations using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD,RailSys, SICAS, or similar).
- Strong understanding of railwaysignaling principles, interlocking logic, train control systems, andsafety-critical design standards.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise S&T works on-site and ensure compliance with safety, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams across interlocking, telecom, power, and civil domains.
- Proficiencyin preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including as-builtdrawings, design reports, and safety case documents.
- Familiarity with project lifecycle phases from concept to commissioning, including testing protocols and acceptance procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
- Validcertifications in safety management systems (e.g., OHSAS 18001, ISO45001) or railway safety (e.g., ETCS, STP) are highly desirable.
