Summary
The Assistant Manager – S&T plays apivotal role in the successful planning, execution, and coordination ofSignal & Telecommunication (S&T) projects within the railwayindustry. This position is critical to ensuring that all S&Tsystems—ranging from signaling infrastructure and train control systemsto communication networks and safety-critical technologies—are deliveredon time, within budget, and in strict compliance with national andinternational standards, design specifications, and regulatoryrequirements. The incumbent will lead technical oversight of designactivities, including guidance, checking, and reviewing of engineeringdeliverables, while fostering seamless collaboration acrossmultidisciplinary teams including design, site execution, safety, andquality assurance. The role demands a high degree of technicalprecision, project coordination acumen, and proactive risk management tosupport client inspections, regulatory compliance, and smooth projecthandover. This position is essential to maintaining operational safety,system reliability, and the overall integrity of railway infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Supportthe planning, execution, and coordination of S&T project activitiesacross all phases, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to qualitybenchmarks.
- Manage the execution of S&T design works,including providing technical guidance, conducting thorough checks, andreviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Coordinateclosely with design, site, safety, and QA teams to ensure alignment ontechnical requirements, project timelines, and compliance standards.
- Trackproject schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and proactivelyaddress delays or bottlenecks, including managing material availabilityand procurement timelines.
- Prepare detailed technicalreports, Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), weekly/monthly progresspresentations, and project status updates for internal and clientstakeholders.
- Ensure all S&T installations and systems comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and statutory regulations.
- Supportand coordinate client and safety authority inspections, includingpreparing documentation, addressing findings, and implementingcorrective actions.
- Assist in the supervision andperformance evaluation of subcontractors involved in S&T works,ensuring adherence to technical, safety, and quality standards.
- Facilitate technical meetings, design reviews, and interface management sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, and change management logs in compliance with project documentation protocols.

Requirements
- Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunications,or a related field; postgraduate qualification or professionalcertification (e.g., PMP, PE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Minimumof 8–10 years of progressive experience in railway Signal &Telecommunication systems, with at least 3 years in a supervisory orcoordination role.
- Proven experience in managing designreviews, technical checks, and approvals for S&T systems inlarge-scale railway projects.
- Strong understanding ofrailway signaling standards (e.g., ETCS, CBTC, ITC, or nationalequivalents), communication systems (e.g., GSM-R, LTE-R), andsafety-critical systems.
- Proficiency in project managementtools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and technical documentationsoftware (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Excellentanalytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attentionto detail and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams and manage subcontractor performance effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Familiaritywith project compliance frameworks, QA/QC processes, and regulatoryrequirements (e.g., RDSO, AAR, UIC, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work under challenging field conditions when required.
