Job summary

TransUnion seeks a Sr Manager, Accounting for its Global Finance Shared Services Center in Pune, India. You will lead the Record to Report team, partner with segment controllers, and drive process improvements while ensuring timely close and audit readiness.

Ideal candidates have Chartered Accountant credentials with 16+ years of post-qualification experience, strong Excel/Tableau/Power BI skills, and experience with Oracle/Blackline/OneStream. Hybrid work model with two in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with post-qualification experience 16+ years.
• Experience executing accounting close for US GAAP compliant, multi-national entities.
• Understanding of internal control over financial reporting.
• Advanced skills with Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
• Experience with financial systems like Oracle (PeopleSoft), Blackline, OneStream desired.
• Excellent in written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Month-end and quarter-end close process and other requirements set forth by the segment accounting teams while delivering on service level commitments for timeliness and quality.
• Provide well documented and approved journal entries in accordance with TU's policy.
• Preparation of timely and accurate account reconciliation in accordance with TU's policy.
• Prepare other analyses as required to support the month-end close process.
• Preparation of audit support for the US GAAP and Statutory audits.
• Lead and mentor the GFSS Record to Report team including direct reports who will be leading teams of accountants and senior accountants.

Team Overview

Job Description

We are looking for a Record to Report Senior Manager in our Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) Center in TransUnion's Global Capability Center based out of Pune, India to provide leadership to Record to Report team in partnership with the Global Process Leader for Record to Report and the Senior Manager RTR for Pune.

• Accounting Close: This role will ensure that the GFSS Record to Report team in Pune delivers on the following key responsibilities:
• Month-end and quarter-end close process and other requirements set forth by the segment accounting teams while delivering on service level commitments for timeliness and quality
• Provide well documented and approved journal entries in accordance with TU's policy
• Preparation of timely and accurate account reconciliation in accordance with TU's policy
• Prepare other analyses as required to support the month-end close process
• Preparation of audit support for the US GAAP and Statutory audits
• Business Partnering and Collaboration with Stakeholders : Collaborate closely with the segment controllers and their teams to ensure expectations of the GFSS team are clear, issues are escalated and resolved, training needs are communicated and addressed, workload allocation is appropriate, ongoing work transition is appropriately project managed and executed to agree upon timelines, among other things.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the GFSS Record to Report team including direct reports who will be leading teams of accountants and senior accountants providing guidance, coaching, ongoing performance feedback, and development opportunities to drive their professional growth, ensure appropriate training on close activities (including cross training), and ensure the team's effectiveness in delivering high-quality accounting and reporting.
• Performance Reporting & Business Intelligence: Establish and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to monitor and communicate process performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards using BI / Tableau Platform. Provide meaningful insights into KPI trends.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve the accounting close process partnering with the record to report process lead and segment controllers to align initiatives, prioritization, timelines and accountability. Partner with record to report process lead and segment accounting team members to drive continuous improvement initiatives to completion.
• Risk Assessment and Management: Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and provide recommendations for optimizing financial outcomes.
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and are being executed timely and effectively
• Create and execute on annual department budget This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
