RTX India Private Limited, part of Collins Aerospace, is hiring a Senior Lead Engineer in Bengaluru (Hybrid). You will lead the Should Costing vertical, develop cost models for mechanical and electronic components, and collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Procurement to improve manufacturability and drive cost optimization.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in Manufacturing Engineering, strong process planning experience, and expertise in GD&T, QNs, BOMs, and MES tools like

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field
• 8+ years in Manufacturing Engineering with cost analysis experience
• Strong expertise in machining, fabrication, casting, forging, sheet metal and electronics
• Hands-on experience in process planning and routing development
• Knowledge of QNs, manufacturing docs, and process planning methodologies
• Experience with Solumina or similar MES platforms
• Ability to read drawings, GD&T, BOMs and specs
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills

What You Will Do

• Lead the Should Costing vertical by developing and validating cost models for mechanical and electronic components.
• Analyze manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, casting, sheet metal, and electronics assembly, to establish accurate cost estimates.
• Drive manufacturing process planning and provide technical inputs for design-to-cost, value engineering, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including process plans, work instructions, and manufacturing authoring in Solumina.
• Evaluate engineering drawings, GD&T, QNs (Quality Notifications), BOMs, and manufacturing specifications to support cost and process analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Procurement to improve manufacturability and reduce product costs.
• Support supplier assessments, benchmarking, and manufacturing feasibility reviews for new and existing products.
• Mentor team members and establish best practices for should costing methodologies and manufacturing engineering processes.

• 8+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering with significant exposure to should costing or manufacturing cost analysis.
• Strong expertise in manufacturing processes, especially machining, fabrication, casting, forging, sheet metal, and electronics commodities.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing process planning and routing development.
• Working knowledge of Quality Notifications (QNs), manufacturing documentation, and process planning methodologies.
• Experience with Solumina authoring or similar Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platforms.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and manufacturing specifications.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
