Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai seeks a seasoned structural design engineer with 15-20 years of experience in designing residential, commercial, and hospital buildings. The role requires strong knowledge of IS codes and local regulations, and the ability to prepare tender designs and accurate civil BOQs.

You will finalize structural schemes for high-rise buildings, check calculations, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams on site.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of experience in analysis and design of residential, commercial, and hospital buildings.
• In-depth knowledge of IS Codes and local statutory regulations for structural design and detailing.
• Experience in tender design and civil BOQ estimation.
• Ability to finalize structural schemes for high-rise buildings meeting code requirements.
• Experience in preparing design calculations, reports, and drawings for review.

Responsibilities

• Check and issue detailed structural design calculations and drawings.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and site teams.
• Generate design progress reports and provide feedback to senior management.
• Lead a mid-size team of design engineers and draftsmen.
• Contribute to value engineering initiatives and constructability reviews.

• The candidate must have 15-20 years’ experience of Analysis & Design of Residential, Commercial & Hospital Buildings.
• He/ She should have complete knowledge of latest IS Codes as well as local statutory regulations related to structural Design & Detailing.
• Preparation of tender design and drawings
• Responsible for tender estimation - Civil BOQs
• Finalization of structural scheme for High Rise buildings fulfilling all structural design Code requirements and statutory body regulations.
• Will be responsible for checking / issue of detailed structural Design calculations/Reports and design drawings.
• Should have good knowledge of Analysis Design Software like ETABS, SAFE, STAAD etc.
• Should be conversant with interdisciplinary & site coordination
• The candidate is expected to have keen eye for Value Engineering
• Should have good practical knowledge of site construction activity.
• He/ She should be able to manage a mid-size team of design engineers and draft-persons.
• Should be conversant with Revit.
• The candidate should have good verbal & written communication skills.
• Should be able to generate design progress report and provide regular feedback to senior management
