Job summary

Photon is seeking a skilled Java backend engineer to design and implement microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. You will work on both synchronous and asynchronous services with WebFlux, integrate with Kafka, Cassandra, Solr, and relational databases, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and monitoring setups.

The ideal candidate brings strong SOLID fundamentals, pattern knowledge, and hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity in enterprise software

Qualifications

• Expert in Java 17+ with strong backend design sense.
• Proven experience implementing design patterns and SOLID.
• Experienced in building microservice architectures and patterns.
• Skilled with Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux for synchronous/asynchronous services.
• Proficient in Kafka, Cassandra, Solr; comfortable with Oracle/MySQL.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted coding tools to boost productivity.
• Familiar with CI/CD, monitoring stacks (AppD/ELK/Grafana) and testing (JUnit/Mockito).

Responsibilities

• Develop robust Java 17+ microservices in a Spring ecosystem.
• Design and implement scalable patterns, ensure SOLID principles.
• Build both synchronous and asynchronous services with WebFlux.
• Integrate with Kafka, Cassandra, Solr and relational databases.
• Apply CI/CD, monitor apps, and implement tests using JUnit/Mockito.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Must Have Skills:

• Expert in Java 17+
• Extensive experience implementing Design Patterns, SOLID Principles and various Microservice Patterns
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservice Architecture
• Strong experience with Spring WebFlux to build synchronous and asynchronous Microservices
• Proficient in Kafka
• Hands-on with Cassandra and Solr
• Experience with Oracle or MySQL
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI-assisted software development tools to enhance developer productivity in enterprise software development
• Experience with CI (Continuous Integration) methodologies and Tools
• Hands-on experience with AppD, ELK, Grafana - including alerts and notification setup
• Unit testing with Junit and Mockito

Nice to Have:

• Experience using Elasticsearch for transactional data storage
