DHL IT Services in India seeks a Senior IT Consultant for AI Acceleration to design and implement AI-enabled software solutions. You will work with product teams to accelerate delivery, apply AI tooling, and ensure responsible AI practices across the development lifecycle.

The role blends deep AI expertise with hands-on engineering and coaching, supporting End Customer Solutions and other P&P domains. Strong English communication is essential.

Our P&P AI SQUAD is expanding to support AI-empowered, feature-driven software development tailored to Post & Parcel requirements. This role is embedded directly within P&P Solutions, working alongside product teams and domain experts to apply AI to real business-critical software and delivery challenges: you will work directly with product teams and domain experts to accelerate business-critical software in areas such as End Customer Solutions, Billing Solutions, Mobile Solutions, Customer Touchpoint Solutions, Self Service Solutions, Store Solutions, Pension Solutions, Production, Transport and Business Intelligence.

You will join as asenior AI expert, operating across IT Consulting, Solution Architecture, Technical Leadership and Principal Engineering responsibilities depending on the product need. The role combines deep AI and DevSecOps expertise withhands-on engineering and coaching.

As aSenior IT Consultant for AI Acceleration, you will work with P&P product teams to identify, design and implement responsible AI capabilities across the software delivery lifecycle. You will translate customer needs, product priorities, pain points and feature ideas into clearly defined AI-assisted delivery outcomes.

Your work will span requirements engineering, solution options and blueprints, architecture, code generation, testing, documentation, knowledge management, application support and operations. You will use Copilot, AI agents and approved AI tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining human control over prioritization, decisions, quality and accountability.

Working model

TheSQUADcombines senior AI expertise with P&P product and software expertise. AI experts inject capabilities, reusable assets, coaching and hands-on support. Product teams continue to own business value, backlog priorities, delivery commitments, acceptance, quality and compliance. Implementation is performed as a mixed team, with AI expertise engaged according to the priority and maturity of the product need.

What you do

• Implement reusable AI assets tailored to P&P Solutions needs while using and fulfilling DHL and Agent Friday standards.
• Coach and complement product teams through hands-on AI implementation, from exploration and co-design through engineering and handover.
• Integrate AI into DevSecOps practices for requirements, architecture, engineering, code, testing, documentation, knowledge and operations.
• Create solution options and blueprints that consider security, performance, compliance, maintainability and operational readiness.
• Apply Copilot, AI agents and other approved AI tools using effective prompting, engineering patterns and repeatable playbooks.
• Partners with architects, technical leads, developers, testers, product owners and domain experts in a co-creation model.
• Maximise AI efficiency and demonstrate outcomes through transparent measures such as delivery acceleration, quality improvement, reuse and reduced manual effort.
• Identify and address AI risks, limitations and quality concerns, keeping human review and accountability embedded in the delivery process.
• Enable knowledge transfer so product teams can sustainably operate, extend and reuse the implemented capabilities.
• Support priority P&P products and domains, including End Customer Solutions, Billing Solutions, Mobile Solutions and other customer-facing or operational solutions.

• Substantial experience in AI-assisted software engineering, generative AI or agentic AI, with strong hands-on delivery experience.
• Profound knowledge of integrating AI into software engineering and DevSecOps workflows.
• Experience with AI/LLM application development, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool/function calling, AI agents, model evaluation and integration of AI services into enterprise applications.
• Practical expertise with GitHub Copilot or comparable coding assistants, AI agents, prompt engineering, reusable patterns and playbooks.
• Strong software engineering foundation, including architecture, clean code, APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, secure development and production operations.
• Ability to create solution options and translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical designs, prototypes and production-ready approaches.
• Working knowledge of responsible AI, security, privacy, compliance, model-limitations, evaluation and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Hands-on coaching mindset with the ability to transfer knowledge and raise the AI capability of multidisciplinary product teams.
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments with distributed, cross-regional teams.
• Excellent spoken and written English, strong stakeholder communication and the ability to explain AI opportunities and constraints without hype.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and organize work under time and workload pressure.

Experience that will help you stand out

• Experience in logistics, postal, parcel, retail, billing, customer-facing digital channels or mobile application domains.
• Familiarity with P&P concepts such as customer journeys, touchpoints, Packstation/Poststation, billing and finance, mobile apps, pension services, production, transport or BI solutions.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms, containers, infrastructure as code, observability, performance engineering or application security.
• Previous work as an IT Consultant, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer or senior software engineer in product-led delivery.
• Experience establishing reusable AI assets, engineering guardrails, evaluation approaches or communities-of practice.
