Job summary

Himalaya Investment Advisors Llp seeks a skilled equity research analyst to conduct deep fundamental research on Indian listed companies, across sectors and market caps. You will build detailed financial and valuation models to assess quality, track portfolio performance, and assist in investment memos and presentations.

Over time you will originate and recommend investment ideas backed by rigorous analysis, participate in discussions, and engage with management teams.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of direct public equity research experience in India.
• Experience building earnings models and tracking portfolio performance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a small in-office team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct deep fundamental research on Indian listed companies across sectors and market caps.
• Build detailed financial and valuation models to assess business quality, competitive positioning, and intrinsic value.
• Track portfolio companies, monitor key industry trends, and assist in preparing investment memos and presentations.
• Participate in idea discussions, portfolio reviews, and meetings with company managements.
• Over time, develop the ability to independently originate and recommend investment ideas backed by rigorous analysis.

Prerequisites for the role:

1. Prior experience in & demonstrated passion for investing in public equities: Between 2-5 years of direct public equity research experience - either at other investment firms / equity research / investment banking firms in India.

2. Functional skills: Prior experience of analyzing potential investment opportunities across sectors, building earnings models, relative valuation sheets and tracking performance of portfolio companies. Ability to identify new investment opportunities and make recommendations to the investment manager that are supported by rigorous analysis of company fundamentals, industry and management teams.

3. Right Personality Fit: Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.

4. Willingness to work in small teams: The candidate should be comfortable working in small teams. This is an in-office role.

Prior Experience: 2-5 years of experience in either sell-side equity research or buy-side investment firms (preferred) or Investment Banking / investment research related firms is mandatory. We would request people without relevant work experience & freshers to not apply.
