Job summary

Finnovate is seeking a research-driven Equity Research / Investment Analyst to support buy-side investment strategies across Mutual Fund, PMS, and AIF mandates. The role involves building financial models, conducting sector-agnostic equity research, and preparing investment notes for portfolio managers.

You will work closely with Portfolio Managers, monitor portfolio performance, and track industry and macroeconomic developments to support informed decisions.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in equity research
• Experience in a decision-making role within an AMC, PMS, or AIF
• Strong expertise in the Indian equity markets
• Experience building and leading investment teams

Responsibilities

• Support investment strategies and portfolio decisions across MF, PMS, and AIF mandates.
• Conduct sector-agnostic equity research and evaluate opportunities across sectors.
• Perform deep-dive analyses of public and private companies to identify investments.
• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, relative valuation, scenario/sensitivity).
• Carry out detailed company valuations and provide buy-side recommendations.
• Analyze financial statements, annual reports, investor presentations, and management commentary.
• Track industry trends, regulatory developments, macro factors, IPOs, and quarterly results.
• Prepare research notes, investment ideas, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Monitor MF/PMS/AIF portfolios with performance evaluation and risk analysis.
• Participate in management calls, earnings reviews, and industry interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with Portfolio Managers to support investmentstrategies and portfolio decision-making across MF/PMS / AIF mandates. .
• Conduct comprehensive, sector-agnosticequity research on publicly listed companies and evaluate investmentopportunities across sectors.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of public andprivate companies to identify potential investment opportunities.
• Build, maintain, and update financialmodels (DCF, relative valuation, scenario and sensitivity analysis) forexisting and prospective investments.
• Carry out detailed company valuations and provide well-researched buy-side investment recommendations.
• Analyze financial statements, annualreports, investor presentations, and management commentary to assesscompany performance and outlook.
• Track industry trends, regulatorydevelopments, macroeconomic factors, IPOs, corporate actions, and quarterlyresults to monitor and validate investment theses.
• Prepare detailed research notes, investmentideas, event updates, and presentations for internal discussions andstakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio holdings across MF / PMS / AIF portfolios,providing periodic performance evaluation and risk analysis.

• Participate in management calls, earningsreviews, and industry interactions to strengthen research insights andsupport investment decisions.

Qualification& Skills

• 10 years of experience in equity research,with substantial experience in a decision-making role within an AMC, PMS,or AIF.
• Strong expertise in the Indian equitymarkets, with a proven ability to identify structural trends, navigatemarket cycles, and generate consistent alpha.
• Demonstrated experience in building andleading investment teams, including recruiting, mentoring, and managingfund managers and analysts.
• Postgraduate from a reputed institution ; CFACharter holders or CAs will be highly preferred.
