Job summary

DesignCafe in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead end-to-end interior design projects on-site. You will manage client briefings, concept development, detailed design, and execution oversight with vendors and contractors.

The role requires 5+ years in interior design, strong space planning, and proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp or Revit. You will mentor junior designers and uphold DesignCafe standards while ensuring timely, quality delivery to clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in interior design, preferably with leadership in end-to-end project delivery.
• Experience with residential/home interiors and knowledge of Mumbai market is a plus.
• Proficiency in creating and reviewing construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end interior design projects from client briefing to execution oversight.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Interior Designer role based in Mumbai. The Senior Interior Designer will lead end-to-end interior design projects, from client briefing and concept development to detailed design and execution oversight. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting site visits, space planning, preparing design presentations, selecting materials and FF&E, and coordinating with project managers, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery. The role also involves reviewing construction drawings, aligning designs with budget and timelines, and maintaining consistent communication with clients to incorporate feedback and ensure satisfaction. The Senior Interior Designer is expected to mentor junior designers, uphold DesignCafe's design standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and offerings.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Interior Design and Architecture skills, with experience in residential or home interiors.
• Candidates should possess Space Planning expertise to optimize layouts for functionality, aesthetics, and client lifestyle needs.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in creating and reviewing Construction Drawings, including detailed plans, elevations, and technical documentation.
• Candidates should possess FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) knowledge, including material selection, finishes, and vendor coordination.
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in interior design, preferably 5+ years with demonstrated leadership in end-to-end project delivery.
• Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and familiarity with 3D visualization tools.
• Strong client communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
• Knowledge of local building codes, materials, and construction practices; experience in the Mumbai market is an advantage.
